DAY 2 – PATH1: CHIANG MAI – FANG 220 Km. Breakfast, briefing and start of the tour towards Phrao, Chiang Dao and up to Arunothai. From there we continue along the spectacular road close to Burma which takes us to Doi Angkhan, where we will visit the gardens of the Royal project, and then continue to Fang. Lunch during the day. An exciting stage between history and traditional ethnic minorities with interesting visits along the way. Dinner and overnight in Fang. DAY 3 – PATH 2: FANG – CHIANG KONG 240 Km. Breakfast, briefing and start of the second day of the tour in the border area with Burma and Laos. Departure towards Thaton to visit the beautiful Chedi Kaew and then continue to the Mae Salong mountains where we will visit the KMT Memorial and taste tea from the surrounding plantations. We continue towards Doi Thung along the challenging road and then descend into the valley and head to the Golden Triangle and finally to Chiang Kong for dinner and overnight stay. Breakfast, briefing and the start of a busy day leaving the Mekong behind us to head towards the inland hills in a landscape of crops and rice fields up to Phayao where there is the largest natural lake in the country. From there we continue with an itinerary full of incredible ups and downs until we reach our destination of Chiang Mai for dinner and the last night. DAY 5 – PATH 4: PHRAO – PAI 220 Km.
Breakfast, briefing and start of the tour among the ups and downs that will lead us to Chai Prakan and then down south on the winding road 107 with a visit to the elephant park in Mae Taeng, we will resume the route of the infamous road that leads to Pai, with a visit to the Chinese village Santichon. Breakfast, briefing and departure for Chiang Mai through the spectacular Doi Inthanon national park, the highest mountain in Thailand. Visit to the Royal Agricultural Station with its incredible fern garden. We continue along the national park to the Khun Wan Royal Projet. From there to Ma Wan and finally back to Chiang Mai. In Thailand, healthcare is advanced and at the highest international levels, but all hospitals are paid and very expensive. Driving is on the left and can cause dangerous confusion. For the first few days you need to pay more attention than usual. All roads, with rare exceptions, are asphalted and well maintained. The maximum speed limit on long-distance roads is 120 km/h, on state roads it is 90, but generally people drive at an average of 50/70 due to the endless curves. It is necessary to drive with the utmost attention because on the roads you can encounter animals and inexperienced drivers. Before departure you will be asked to complete an liability exemption.
